PhD in Economics from the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. In 2001, Maria Shklyaruk graduated from the St. Petersburg University of the Russian Interior Ministry with a law degree. Until 2002, she worked as a police-authorized officer, and later as a prosecutor assistant. She also supported public prosecution in court. 2011 – 2012: Master of Law (LL.M.) at the University of Hamburg.
Maria's areas of expertise include: research of governance systems and implementation of cutting-edge governance practices in a digital world. In her work, Maria Shklyaruk analyzes state policy programs and data research projects, evaluates the regulatory function of the state and conducts an economic analysis of public law, criminal law and criminal procedural law.
Maria was a member of the subcommittee for the improvement of oversight and approval functions of federal executive bodies with the Russian Government Commission on Administrative Reform.
